F. Reddy the hungry goldfish

Description

So, when I was a kid I had a goldfish.
F. Reddy was a beautiful animal in a round bowl who spent his day going round..and round.. and round... and round... - Until the day my mom learned that a round bowl isn't good for a goldfish.

So next time my mother smashed the goldfish bowl on accident with her coffee mug we got him a brand new rectangular aquarium! YAY!

We let F. Reddy in, and he went round -BONK- and round.. -BONK- and round.. -BONK-.. hitting every corner on the way as he was used to following the side of his bowl.
Eventually he learned and kept swimming around in the new tank, avoiding the corners and doing a lap in the middle instead.

Freddy grew from an inch up to a well good 4½ inches and died at the age of six. Or, actually, he got a bad case of cancer and my mother smacked him against the balcony concrete.
RIP, F. Reddy. I'll love you forever!

(Note, in Swedish his name was F. Röding. Fröding was a known Swedish poet, and Röding is a name for a fish. So I was really witty when naming him... Not that my goldfish ever shared any poetry with me.)

Intaglio in amber, reverse engraving. Tried to make it look like he was eating some of the stuff inside the amber and using it to my advantage this time! 1 inch across in size.

This is beautiful! And as is the story...xD Reminds me of my goldfish, I had originally got them with the intent to feed them to my turtle, but I suppose the turtle didn't like the taste. They started out as friends, then we had to separate them because the fish would attack my turtle.D': They lived 4+ years and got to be massive until 8/10 got sick and we put them out of their misery.:U

Anyway, this technique is really interesting. I've never seen it before!
