Tomorrow it has been a year since I posted my first beadmaking attempt.

I tried it on my jeweller's torch which is completely unsuitable for such a task, but at least I was on to something! :D

A month or so later I had my noob Hothead torch and got to it!

it is a wonderful journey and I can see my own progress, something that is always encouraging! Also, all your comments has eagered me to do more, better and prettier!

Last night this is what came out when I went to make some easter gifts for a friend and these came out, inspired by Fabergé eggs.

Approx. 25-30 mm long.

Happy Easter! :squee:

Beyond amazing!
I honestly think this is some of the best lampwork I've seen, (and I've seen ALOT of lampwork!)
Do you ever sell your beads?

Oh, wow! That means a lot to me!

When I began this wonderful craft a year ago I found a lot of pieces where I thought "I will NEVER be able to make anything remotely as pretty as that!" - and today I am almost there. What I need to work on is balance and now when I am getting a proper torch instead of just a hothead I'll have to re-learn some of the things I've done in the past - like how some glass react to the new environment.

It is hard to be a beginner at this. I compare myself with what people put up online - and people usually present their best work. I never took any classes but bought materials and did some trial-and-error along with a few books and tutorials, so I don't know what it is "supposed to be" at the beginning - but sometimes I feel like then I'm not aware of the supposed limitations either! :)

(Long rant. Heh. Sorry! ;) )

Thank you! I feel there has been a skill level up - I first found the turotial for these before starting lampworking thinking" I'll never be able to do anything like that.." - I am quite proud of them.
